My inner child has really been wanting a safe place to play and so I've been focusing on that the last several days as I had the energy. I still have several things to make before it is finished but I'm loving it. The theme is somewhat fairy as you may be able to see from the wallpaper which was created with Canva and their AI feature...
First I cut a piece of cardboard for the floor in the shape I wanted.
Next I cut another piece of cardboard for the walls, using a paint bottle to try to roll the cardboard evenly to fit the shape.
I tried hot gluing it but it didn't hold so I ended up using duct tape. I wanted it to be removable...
I had some pieces of bark flying around so I glued it to the outside.
Then I fitted the roof...
And glued it on.
Next I made a cushion for the floor...
Using hot glue to fasten the fabric to the cardboard...
Then I cut the excess fabric off so it would not get too bulky on the bottom...and checked to see how it fits...
Next I added some leftover wallpaper to the walls.
Then I started on the roof. First I added some twigs to add slant to the roof. And broke off some parts of a pinecone to edge the roof and hide the cardboard...
I started adding a layer from a different pinecone for the roof...
After I did the first layer I made a large bead of glue on the upper edge and added another layer of pinecone leaves.
To finish it off I added a piece of bark on top.
And added a small twig to hold a fairy lamp...
Next I found parts for the lamp and painted the inside of the bead with glow in the dark paint.
Then I bent the wire so I can hang it up.
I also added a piece of bark for the doorstep to hide the cardboard.
I made some pillows out of a fluffy sock, using hot glue to hold the ends together.
Then I added a picture and a string of fused pearls.
It was fun adding pieces of dried moss and fake flowers to make it look like a fairy house.
And last of all I added a curtain to the doorway...
And put it in place...
I forgot to add some butterflies but will do that once I locate the container that holds them...
