I wanted a unique toilet paper holder for my dollhouse bathroom. I thought a freestanding one would be nice but since I didn't have the tools and patience to create a wire one I decided it had to be a wooden one. So I rummaged through my stash of odds and ends to see what I could find.
I found a heart shaped wood piece for the top, 2 pieces of skewer and a round wood piece with a hole in the middle. I drilled 2 more holes on either side of the hole in the center for the side pieces.
Then I found a piece of incense stick that was slightly smaller for the center piece for the extra toilet paper rolls.
I cut thin strips from a sheet of toilet paper, using 2 pieces per toilet paper roll, and glued the end with a small piece of glue to hold it.
It was a bit hard to try to get th second roll started. It might have been better to do both at the same time but it took a bit of concentration to get it tight enough and straight enough.
I used a smaller piece of incense stick for the actual toilet paper holder and rolled toilet paper on it but I didn't glue it right at the end and left a little bit hanging loose to make it look used.
I glued the main frame together and let it dry. I then painted the main frame and the center stick. I could move the toilet paper rolls so I could paint just far enough so that the toilet paper rolls would cover the unpainted surface.
I put some glue in the hole and stuck it in the center and glued a little blue bead on top as decoration.
Last of all I glued in the toilet paper holder in the middle wedging it between the two side posts.
And here you can see the finished product...
