Creating a Wall Hanging With Curtain Lights

What you need:

-curtain lights

-a branch

-string

-scissors

-decorating objects

I went to Hobby Lobby to get some things for projects and stopped to look at their string lights because I knew that some of them were on sale and some how they seem to be a weak spot for me. They just add so much coziness to a room that has some string lights somewhere in the decor.

I found these for half the normal price, otherwise I would not have bought them...

I brought in a branch that fell from the trees outside and tied the string lights to it.

Next I added a string so I can hang it up.

I wanted to make a way to hide the battery box so I decided to do some decorative weaving in the y of the branch.

I just wrapped the string around the branches.

I wrapped the string as high as I wanted then I put a bead of glue on the back to hold the string but in my opinion it was a waste of time and glue.

Then I wove in ribbon, lace and even a string with a pompom on it that came off a fluffy sock.

Here you can see that I was able to stick the extra cord and battery box in the back. The branches gave enough space that it fit perfectly. And then it was ready to hang up.

I added a green fake pine swag over it for decoration.

I don't have an overhead light in my living room so the soft light from this source made it even cozier. I discovered though that a part of the branch was making Mark on the wall every time I moved it a bit when reached up to turn it on. Since I'm renting I decided it's best to take it down so I draped it over my book case where it can now join the string lights I already had there in shining a soft light over me in the evening when I rest on the sofa.

I guess you get to see some of my Christmas decorations that I put up already... I had so much fun! (For the first time in my life I'm finally free to decorate for the holidays!)

I know this is just a simple short creative thing but I thought I'd share it in case someone ever reads this and wants to create something similar. The possibilities are endless, I'd say! You could use a stick, a canoe paddle, even a broom if you'd like. Anything you want. You could add flowers, a swag of fabric, a bead curtain or any other number of things which could also double as a place to hide the battery box if you need to. You might even be able to use several string lights and create you own wall of lights...

I hope that some day this gives someone the ideas and empowerment they need to go forward to create what they dream of creating. You will feel better trying and failing than not trying at all. It is totally worth the risk!

Thanks for stopping by and reading!
