I've been struggling to figure out what might be of interest to my readers so I'm a bit behind today... even though I'm not done with my dollhouse yet, I'd say I'm at least halfway doing one room at a time. I hadn't done much for a while but then I gifted myself some living room furniture and that got me started again. I've been sharing bits and pieces with my friends on social media but thought it might be interesting to have it all in one place as a tour. Let me know in the comments what you think...
Currently the main dollhouse is turned against the wall and it would be a bit of a mess to try to turn it around to get an up-to-date photo so here are a few from when I first finished it. I haven't added more except furniture on the balcony.
I managed to get some side shots without dislodging anything on my crowded table so you can see the balcony.
Now the entryway...I couldn't find any photos from when I was working on it so I did an impromptu photo shoot...
I haven't add railings yet but I want to make the stairs reversible so if I want to enjoy the waterfalls on the risers I can without it looking out of place...
Now on to the kitchen... another impromptu photo shoot...no lighting in the kitchen yet...
Just in case you didn't notice the umbrellas hiding between the breakfast nook and the hall tree ...
Next is the dining room...
Next is the living room...
Now it's time to go upstairs...another impromptu photo shoot...
Eventually there will be a rope ladder to go to the third floor which is to create a safe place for little girls to play where they don't have to be afraid of anything...
Now the bathroom... another impromptu photo shoot... I have better quality photos somewhere but was unable to find them...
Close up of the little teacup fairy house on the windowsill...
Follow me across the hall to my inner child's room...
Another impromptu photo shoot...
It's not done yet as I have only put the furniture but haven't gotten the walls and curtains completed yet...
Did you notice the doorway next to the bed? That will go into my friend's room. I want to make it into a princess room for her inner child. I haven't gotten very far yet...
In the back corner of my friend's room is another hole in the ceiling that will one day have a rope ladder leading up to a safe playroom... I'm not quite done adding everything I want such as dress up clothes on the hangers and some accessories... for those of you who have not seen the little playhouse in the corner, I will put a link at the end so you can check out what it looks like inside...
This wing of the house is separate so now let's go over to the main part of the house and climb the future rope ladder and explore those rooms.
First is another play room, but more like a craft room. Not near finished but you can get an idea of the theme by what is already there. The bookcase won't stay in there and the binoculars and globe will go into the future library.
Through the doorway above you can see purple. This will be the future library. For now this four poster bed is in there for safe keeping but will eventually go into my second dollhouse... this library theme will be a mystical fairy theme. I know how I want to make the bookcases, it just looks a bit too challenging to start on just yet ...
Lastly, on the other side of the craft room is the music room. This room is not done either and I may get a smaller piano at some point as well as a few other music instruments to make it complete...
This is all of the big house but there is a third part to this set: a garage with a small apartment above it...
Now let's go to the apartment...
I don't have a small enough bird to stick on the feeder outside of the window... but the cat is watching...
Are you ready to go upstairs?
Now it's time for the bathroom... I made it removable so I have more room to work if I want to add more things in the back...
At the bottom you will find a link to the blog post where I described how I created this little bathroom and you will find more close up photos than I have here including the inside of the cabinets...(I can only add 3 recommended blog posts at the end but if you are interested in more look under the miniature experiments section to find a few more tutorials of different things I've created for this dollhouse... )
Well that's all for now, guys... I hope you enjoyed this tour! For those who are new here, all the wallpapers and floors except for the kitchen wallpaper and the fabric floors are created by me and are available for download in the store section of my website in case you happen to see one you would like in your own dollhouse. I have created some of the furniture but a lot has also come from thrift stores, hobby lobby, or kits...
Also I am starting to add some miniature videos on YouTube as well which you can find by going down to the footer and clicking on the YouTube icon. And... stay tuned for more!! 🧚✨
